Compensation and Benefits

Salary
All salon/ spa assistants will be paid an hourly wage and are required to work 32 hours per week. You are eligible to participate in the retail commission structure as an assistant after 90 days. You will be eligible for an increase of wages as soon as you are promoted to a stylist or esthetician position. Promotion will occur as fast as you develop yourself. You will be required to pass a number of technical and knowledge test to be eligible for promotion. We expect you to move through this process in no more than 180 days.

Education
All Salon employees are required to attend a weekly in-salon education. We bring in outside educators to teach us technical and business skills. We also feature training by Michelle and our team so we can learn from each other. We promote continued education outside of the salon as well and encourage our team to continue to develop their professional and personal skills. After 180 days, you are eligible to have ½ of your outside education paid for by Shell’s Salon Spa. We have a team budget of $250 per month that is allotted for this purpose.

Health Insurance
You are eligible for our extended health and dental insurance benefit after 180 days of full-time employment (32 hours/ week). Shell’s Salon Spa will pay for 50% of the costs. You are required to pay for any coverage for additional dependents under your policy.

Service Discount
You are eligible for a 50% discount on all services performed during the technician’s scheduled work hours (the technician: the person who is performing the services), and an 80% discount on services performed outside of scheduled work hours. You are eligible for service discounts after 30 days of employment.

Product Allowance
You are eligible for a quarterly $25 product allowance after 1 year of employment, and a quarterly $50 product allowance after 2 years of employment, and thereafter. All product allowances are redeemed on any, and only, products sold by Shell’s Salon Spa, and must be redeemed within each quarter of qualification.

Schedule
You are eligible for our schedule benefits after 180 days of employment. You will be allowed to sit down with your Team Leader and create a reasonable flexible schedule, either working longer shifts over 3-4 days or shorter shifts over 4-5 days per day.
